Anahareo, the ‘rebel’ of Mattawa or “Pony” as she was called in her youth, for her will and spirit, was an independent, strong-willed and compassionate Mohawk/Algonquin woman who married the famous Grey Owl. She lived an adventurous life protecting the Canadian wilderness and advocating for the iconic beaver.
